Indian butter chicken

I have been trying out mostly indian food here lately and I'm going to do yet another indian recipe. I have been looking around a lot on Youtube and different blogs on how to do it and there are a lot of variations on this dish, so I tried it this way. Pretty much grabbing whatever I had in the kitchen already, so quite easy.

900 grams chicken, cut in to chunks
6 tablespoons butter in total (for frying and on top of sauce when ready)
1 onion cut into smaller pieces
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoons garam masala
1 tablespoon ginger
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon cumin
1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
400 grams tomatoes crushed
2dl cream
Salt, pepper
Cilantro for garnish

Serve with rice or naan

Start with the chicken, fry them a little bit in a pan, in butter and set aside.
Then fry the onions in butter, add garlic and all the spices.
Add the tomatoes. (If you want it really smooth, blend the sauce in blender and then add chicken and cream.)
Let cook for 5 minutes then add cream.
Add the chicken. Let simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Stir over some melted butter and garnish with cilantro.

Enjoy!
