Chicken Kadai
Chicken Kadai, north indian dish. First time trying this. I like the taste. Pretty much same as "Karahi chicken" but this recipe had coconut milk in it so not so spicy.
700 grams of chicken
3 onions
500g tomatoes
2 cm ginger
12 garlic cloves
(2 green chilis)
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon fennel
1-2 kardamons
2-3 cloves
2 bayleaves
1/2 tablespoon turmeric
1/2 tablespoon red chili
Peppers 1
Coconut milk 2 dl
Salt
Cooking oil 4 tablespoon
Saute in fryingpan fennel, coriander, cumin, pepper in oil.
Then put the spices in mixer or grind in mortar. Put aside.
Then fry pepper in butter and put aside.
In new fryingpan fry in oil 4 cardamom, 4 cloves, cummin, bay leaves, turmeric, chilipowder, ginger garlic paste, onion, tomatoes, and the spice mix you made earlier. Then add chicken. Let cook for a few minutes then add water and coconut milk, cook on low for 10 minutes, add peppers, stir around. Garnish with fresh coriander. Serve with rice or naan.
